Hey folks, I need an inlay set of barb wire, at least a single for a 12th fret marker, but I'm considering using barbs as fret markers all the way up.
What I had in mind was a single barb centered on a 1" or so length of wire for all dots, then for the 12th fret, a double barb. Id like this to me in MOP, and precut if possible. Does anyone know where I could get this?

Thanks
LanceK

Kind of like those tatoos? Are you going to inlay it all the way around the neck?

Andy Depaule.....Try him out.

I am meeting with a company Thursday to discuss inlay materials and they do CNC work as well. But I may be a little bit before I have it all in place but I think that Andy can set you up.

I could be wrong about the CNC but he does offer to have your logo made for you in their plant overseas. They would have to be pretty darn good on the ole fret saw to offer this when you would be setting up to rout out the cavity.

Could ask him I guess!

Lance-

Like this?

I believe a fellow here in Texas cut these. You could ask Jamie. (Jamie Kinscherff, that is. This is one of his guitars.)

Andy's plant in Viet NAm does it all by hand which actually keeps the price down nicely. He is now doing my logo and you would swear they are done on CNC these guys are so good, cheaper than CNC though.

And one shot of the rosette, which I just love:

I've seen one of these with the barbs done in 14 Karat gold, and it was just stunning.

I think you maybe. I have delt with Andy a while. In the past his work has been hand cut in Aisia. Very good work by the way and you will not beat his price any where.

I believe that Tom requires that you by a production run min. order. I wanted to buy his poker hand a while back but I would have had to by a full production run I think was 40 pcs if I remember right. Check with him though I could be wrong.

An interesting thing is, their saws are hand made as well as ther blades. They do not use manufactured blades, instead they take spring steel strips and tap seration into them by hand. Andy once told me, he took them a bunch of high grade blades and they did not like them and told him thanks but no-thanks
